President Donald Trump appeared unfazed Tuesday evening while eating out at a Washington, D.C., restaurant as pro-Palestine protesters called him “Hitler.”
Stepping out into the nation’s capital since his crackdown on crime, Trump, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, dined at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. While walking through the restaurant, a video obtained by CNN and posted on X by the outlet’s White House reporter, Samantha Waldenberg, shows Vance approaching a table to greet customers.
“Enjoy your dinner,” Vance said as protesters were heard in the background.
Trump was then seen walking straight toward the protesters as they yelled, “Free D.C., Free Palestine. Trump is the Hitler of our time!”
Some protesters were seen recording the president’s reaction. Others waved Palestinian flags. Boos from restaurant patrons were heard in opposition.

Trump also spoke to reporters outside the restaurant, saying the crackdown on crime was a key reason for his decision to dine out and hinted that another operation would soon be underway, with the city to be announced “very shortly,” CNN reported.
“The governor of a certain state would love us to be there, and the mayor of a certain city in that same state would love us to be there. We’ll announce it probably tomorrow, and it’s going to be something where we’ll do like we did here,” Trump said, according to the outlet.
Trump’s dinner in Washington, D.C., comes after he deployed the National Guard to the capitol on Aug. 11 and invoked Section 40 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to crack down on crime, following a string of high-profile incidents, including the brutal attack against a former Department of Government Efficiency staffer and the fatal June 30 shooting of Republican intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym.
While Democrats and legacy media pundits, citing local police data, have said Washington, D.C.’s crime rate dropped 35% in 2024, the statistics left out crimes such as felonies and aggravated assaults. Despite the outcry from Democrats, a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released Aug. 25 reported that 54% of registered voters said Trump’s crime-fighting efforts in the nation’s capital are “justified and necessary.”
U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro said Tuesday that total arrests in the city have reached 2,177, with 222 illegal guns seized since the federal crackdown.
