‘Where do you even begin with these morons?’ Stephen Miller slaps down media peddling Trump death rumor

White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller ripped media figures and politicians on Wednesday on Fox News’ “Hannity” for promoting baseless online rumors that President Donald Trump had died.

The rumors about Trump’s death began circulating online Friday and spread over the Labor Day weekend, with hashtags like #TrumpIsDead and #WhereIsTrump trending. Fox’s Sean Hannity asked Miller for his reaction, highlighting that figures such as former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, comedian Stephen Colbert, and Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz all publicly discussed the rumors.

“Where do you even begin with these morons, Sean?” Miller asked. “President Trump has done more press conferences, more interviews, more transparency, more public accessibility, more hours and hours with the press. He livestreams his cabinet meetings for nearly four hours. There’s no human being in the history of politics who has made themselves more available to the press and the public than President Trump or who has demonstrated more stamina in public life. I can tell you that every single person who works for him in the White House is outworked by him.”

“He is the first one to call us in the morning, in the early hours of the morning. He is the last one to call us far past midnight on every single work project, whether it’s trade, whether it’s national security, whether it’s the border, whether it’s crime, whether it’s public safety, whether it is making our cities beautiful again, whether it is making our government responsive, whether it’s improving the workforce, whether it is dealing with the need for cheaper housing. You pick the issue,” Miller added. “He’s on top of it 24-7.”

The conspiracy regarding Trump’s death spread online Friday due to the president not being seen in public. The Daily Caller conducted an hour-long exclusive interview with him the same day. On Monday, Walz appeared to reference Trump’s death during a Labor Day picnic, saying that “there will be news sometime” about the president’s death.

Additionally, Colbert addressed the rumors on his show Tuesday, opening by saying he was “shocked” to learn that online false death claims had circulated about the president. While Colbert said, “Trump is very much alive,” the audience booed, prompting him to respond, “No. We like our presidents alive. Donald Trump is very much alive.”

Miller went on to rip into Colbert, calling him a “slimeball” and saying that CBS had already canceled his late-night show.

“Look, Colbert’s a slimeball. The guy’s just disgusting. He has no talent. He’s not liked. Obviously, he was fired for a reason, but he’s just a sleazy, disgusting, smarmy guy,” Miller said. “Look, it takes a lot to make me really despise somebody. Or maybe it doesn’t. I don’t know. But Colbert is a horrible person.”

During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump survived two assassination attempts.

At one of his rallies in July 2024, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired multiple rounds into the crowd, grazing Trump’s ear and killing 50-year-old volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore. The second attempted attack against Trump followed on Sept. 15, 2024, when Secret Service agents discovered would-be assassin Ryan Routh hiding in the bushes at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla., with an AK-47-style rifle.
