Police in Scotland have charged a 14-year-old girl who was seen on video brandishing an axe and a knife while allegedly defending herself and her sister from two migrants, the police confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation on Tuesday.

In a viral video with nearly 40 million views on X, reportedly connected to the arrest, two girls can be seen shouting back and forth with at least two alleged migrant men who allegedly attempted to assault one of the girls, with the two pleading for the men to leave them alone while one brandished an axe and a large knife. Police arrived on the scene after the incident to make the arrest, but did not charge any of the men in the video, the police told the DCNF.

“Around 7:40 pm on Saturday, 23 August 2025, we received a report of a female youth with a weapon in St Ann Lane, Dundee. Officers attended and a 14-year-old girl was charged in connection,” a Police Scotland spokesperson told the DCNF in a statement. “She will be reported to the relevant authorities.”

The other girl can be heard on the video repeatedly telling the men not to touch her sister while the men continued filming the pair. The exact details regarding the incident are currently not fully known.

Police Scotland also told the DCNF that they would share details only until court proceedings have concluded.

Migrants have been flooding into the United Kingdom in recent years, with 16% of the nation’s total population now hailing from foreign countries, according to the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford. The migrant crisis has generated outrage from the citizenry, while the current Labour government’s lax policies are driving record popularity to the conservative Reform UK, which has run on a staunch anti-immigration platform.

Migrants commit up to 1 in 4 sexual offenses in the U.K., according to data from the British Ministry of Justice. In 2024, the Labour Party blocked an inquiry into the prevalence of grooming gangs in the U.K., which sparked international condemnation and renewed attention to the U.K.’s ongoing crisis involving organized migrant grooming gangs, largely consisting of Pakistani nationals.
