Daily Caller News Foundation

U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C, Jeanine Pirro announced on Monday that a female suspect was arrested and charged in the nation’s capital for “threatening” to kill President Donald Trump.

Law enforcement arrested and federally charged Nathalie Rose Jones with “knowingly and willfully threatening to take the life of the president of the United States,” Pirro announced on X. She traveled from New York to Washington and threatened on social media to remove and have Trump “eliminated.”

“She did come from New York to Washington, D.C., and she has been threatening and calling for the removal of the president and even worse as she got to D.C. Her threats were on Facebook and Instagram and she continues to call the president a terrorist and was working to have him eliminated. She is now in custody [and] she will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Make no mistake about that,” Pirro said.

Trump federally took over Washington and deployed the National Guard on Aug. 11 to crack down on violent crime in the nation’s capital, which he called an embarrassment for the U.S. Law enforcement has arrested nearly 400 individuals since the federal takeover of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Monday.

Pirro also announced on Monday that officers made 137 arrests on Saturday and Sunday and seized 21 illegal guns. Her office has sent out warrants for crimes relating to homicide, drug trafficking, sex crimes, and others.

High-profile violent crime incidents have plagued Washington in 2025, including the fatal shootings of 21-year-old congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym and two Israeli Embassy staffers outside of the Capital Jewish Museum. The administration aggressively took action in August following the brutal beating of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer Edward Coristine as he attempted to stop a carjacking.

Two assassinations were attempted on Trump’s life in July 2024 and September 2024. The first attempt occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania, when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks grazed his ear with a bullet during a campaign rally. The second occurred when would-be assassin Ryan Routh attempted to kill Trump on his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
