Surveillance video captured the terrifying moment a criminal lowlife was seen abducting a young girl who had wandered away from an indoor play area at a local mall in Virginia.
Fairfax County Police released footage of a man identified as 26-year-old Andres Caceres Jaldin picking up the 3-year-old toddler as she was walking inside the Fair Oaks Shopping Center.
The abduction happened on July 18 and, fortunately, the girls’ parents found Jaldin on the second level of the mall and safely recovered their daughter, according to Fox 5.

Jaldin was able to get away, but he was quickly arrested at an Extended Stay hotel in Chantilly, according to the affiliate. He was charged with abduction of a minor and grand larceny, after allegedly stealing a car from an auto shop beforehand.
Even more troubling, Jaldin, who was reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia, has been involved in more than 30 criminal cases in Fairfax County, including a felony case a few weeks before the alleged abduction.
The felony charge was for not stopping at the scene of a car accident causing injury, according to 7News On Your Side — Jaldin was released on his own recognizance without having to post bond.
Other criminal cases include assault and battery of a family member and malicious wounding, the affiliate reported, adding that Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano declined to prosecute Jaldin for these two cases.
“It’s really disturbing somebody with a criminal history this long, including many violent offenses, and offenses that resulted in bodily injury to members of his family and to the public,” Virginians For Safety President Sean Kennedy told 7News. “And he was released to the public. That shouldn’t have happened.”
“If this individual is criminally dangerous, then he needs to be in prison. If he’s mentally incompetent, he needs to be committed because he has demonstrated himself to be a threat to public safety, and now that almost resulted in either the harm or the loss of life to a small child,” Kennedy said. “I’m going to be watching this case very closely. This strikes at the heart of public safety in Fairfax County.”
