Poll shows half of voters want a third party, just not Musk’s

A new poll reveals that Americans are becoming increasingly interested in a third political party, but Elon Musk’s solution is just not it.

According to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday, a shocking 49% of respondents expressed interest in joining a third party, while only 45% rejected the idea of doing so. But when asked about the America Party, suggested by Musk following his disagreement with Republicans over the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” a shocking 77% of people said they had no interest.

“There is a healthy appetite for a third party among American voters. But with Elon Musk leading the way, not so much,” noted Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.

Other interesting results from the poll show that Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing a 53% disapproval rating, while only 32% of voters approve of how she is doing her job. FBI Director Kash Patel is also looking at a 47% disapproval rating according to the poll, while 36% approve.

Keep in mind that this poll was conducted in the wake of the Epstein file announcement, in which the DOJ and FBI joined forces to declare Jeffrey Epstein’s death a suicide and claim that there is no “client list.” This didn’t sit well with American voters, and specifically a large portion of President Donald Trump’s MAGA base, some of whom voted for him based on his promises relating to the release of the information.

X users reacted to the news that voters are rejecting Musk’s third-party offer, offering a stark counterbalance to the poll’s results:
