Fox News host Harris Faulkner and former Obama administration official Marie Harf on Monday spent two minutes debating about Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani of New York City’s views on Jews.
During an interview with “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker Sunday, Mamdani refused to condemn the use of the phrase “globalize the intifada” on multiple occasions, after declaring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be arrested if he came to New York City and defending the boycott, divest and sanction (BDS) movement. After Faulkner expressed the opinion that some Democrats were willing to overlook antisemitism to retain political power, Harf defended Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York and former Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander, who endorsed Mamdani.
“Are you questioning Jerry Nadler or Brad Lander’s commitment to Judaism?” Harf asked, with Faulkner responding, “A hundred percent. A hundred percent. Yes.”

“Wow. I —I wouldn’t question anyone’s commitment to their faith,” Harf claimed, with Faulkner interjecting, “The same way that I would question Chuck Schumer, who works against the interests of his own people at times for the politics, and that’s what they are doing here.”
Mamdani secured the Democratic nomination in the June 24 primary, beating out former Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York.
“Let me — let me finish — what I’m — what I’m saying here. Prominent Jewish New Yorkers have said they have met with him. They believe that he abhors anti-Semitism and will help New York do better,” Harf said, with Faulkner firing back, “Then why not condemn a ‘globalize the intifada’?”
“I think — I think that he should be more sensitive to the context in which many people hear that language. And I think he should condemn it. But I think that painting him with a brush that because he won’t, because he’s wordsmithing, because he doesn’t want to censor, that everything else he said about — about condemning anti-Semitism — Jewish leaders saying he is good for their community,” Harf claimed, with Faulkner responding with, “Do you read his X?”
