‘Get some f*cking balls’: Dem rep goes on profane tirade against GOP colleague on House floor

Daily Caller News Foundation

Democratic Rep. John Mannion of New York directed a profane outburst toward Republican Rep. Mike Lawler of New York Thursday on the House floor.

The outburst came after the House of Representatives debated and passed a $9.4 billion rescissions package clawing back spending that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cited as wasteful. Mannion’s tirade took place in the presence of multiple members of Congress with at least two children present on the House floor.

“Fucking get over there and get some fucking balls!” Mannion screamed at Lawler.

Mannion’s tirade was reportedly triggered by Lawler’s presence on the side of the House floor where Democrats normally sit, according to Punchbowl News founder Jake Sherman. Lawler responded to the tirade with a post on X Thursday.

“John Mannion was entirely unhinged and unprofessional,” Lawler said. “That was a shameful display that exposed his complete lack of temperament. No wonder numerous staffers have previously alleged a toxic work environment. He should go seek help for anger management — and fuck off.”

“I’m a kid from Tipp Hill that’s fighting for my hometown and my country. I’m giving everything I have to stop the rise of authoritarian government and the destruction of American democracy. If making some noise on the house floor and calling out Trump enablers draws attention to what’s happening to our country right before our eyes – good,” Mannion claimed in a statement provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Today it’s roughing up and handcuffing a United States Senator and a politicized military patrolling the streets of American cities. It’s the willing abandonment of the rule of law and a gross fealty to a want-to-be dictator who is tearing the country apart.” “None of this is normal or okay. I’m always going to stand up and speak out and fight for the people of this country,” Mannion continued.

Other Democrats escorted Mannion off the House floor after the verbally abusive outburst, NOTUS reporter Matt Fuller reported.

The incident on the House floor came hours after Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla of California was briefly detained after trying to storm a press conference held by Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem in Los Angeles, where riots broke out after United States Immigration and Customs enforcement carried out an operation.
