Scott Jennings chimes in from abroad to tell Dems he told them so

Daily Caller News Foundation

Republican strategist Scott Jennings took time off from a trip in Israel Tuesday to comment on the ongoing Los Angeles riots, saying he hated to be proven right about left-wing violence.

President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 700 Marines to back up the deployment of federalized California National Guard troops Monday as the riots continued into their fifth day following a Friday raid by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at a Los Angeles-area Home Depot. Jennings posted a video from an interview with podcaster and former Politico reporter Tara Palmeri, where he clashed with her over political violence.

“Last week, before the riots, I warned that the left has VIOLENCE in its heart right now,” Jennings posted on X. “Looking at the news from abroad, I’m not feeling very good about being proven right. What we’re seeing in California is just a preview of what’s to come if we don’t grapple with left-wing radicalism in our society.”

Jennings included cuts from the riots in Los Angeles in a video with audio of his clash with Palmeiri, including a video clip posted to social media Saturday showing an individual, who the FBI identified as Elpido Reyna in a Monday post on X, throwing rocks at the windshields of vehicles containing federal agents.

During the interview, Jennings told Palmeri that he feared that the political left would stoke violence in the United States.

“The left has a problem with violence,” Jennings said during the interview. “It is in its heart right now.”

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Reyna’s arrest on charges of assault on a federal officer and damaging government property.

A video posted by Fox News reporter Bill Melguin on X on Saturday showed the perspective from inside one of the vehicles being hit with rocks. Melugin also posted additional video and photos of the aftermath of the incident where the federal vehicles were attacked, including video showing a windshield with significant damage after a rioter hit it with a rock, and also posted a photo of an injury suffered by one federal law enforcement officer due to the attack.
