House Dems grumble at ‘dumbs**t’ lawmaker’s move to impeach Trump AGAIN

Congressional Democrats are privately enraged by their colleague jumping the gun on articles of impeachment.

President Donald Trump has been a nightmare for the leftist agenda since his first hours back in the Oval Office, but even Democrats realize that he hasn’t done anything worth impeachment. That didn’t stop Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) from introducing seven articles of impeachment against the president late last month. While most people realize that this was just more political theater with no real basis, Democrats are quietly seething about Thanedar’s decision to force a vote on the measure.

The Republican-controlled House is unlikely to give the articles any real consideration, but the issue is that Democrats fighting for competitive seats may feel compelled to vote a certain way, despite not feeling like the articles hold any political merit.

“It’s going to cause Democrats in [competitive] seats to make tough decisions,” said one House Democrat, according to Axios.

“He’s really just doing it for himself.”

“Several lawmakers told Axios they believe Thanedar’s impeachment efforts are clearly aimed at galvanizing support in his contested Democratic primary,” the outlet reported.

Another senior lawmaker told the outlet that “People are pissed” by Thanedar’s move.

On Tuesday, the representative notified the House floor that his articles are privileged, which effectively requires a vote on the matter within two days. It is expected that Republicans will attempt to table or kill the measure, but that doesn’t have congressional Democrats feeling any better.

“This is the dumbest f**ing thing. Utterly selfish behavior,” grumbled a third House Dem.

A fourth member bluntly said, “What a dumbs**t” while a fifth called the vote “a waste of f**king time.”

New Democrat Coalition Chair Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL) believes the collective energy of the party is needed for other matters.

“We need to focus on reconciliation. 100% of our energy is on dealing with this,” he said.

The accusations within the articles against Trump include “obstruction, abuse of trade powers, violation of First Amendment rights, and bribery,” according to Mediaite.
