To hear FBI Director Kash Patel tell it, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein really did hang himself in 2019 while in a Manhattan jail cell.
Appearing at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, Patel was asked about Epstein’s death while being questioned by Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.)
“Did Jeffrey Epstein hang himself or did somebody kill him?” Kennedy inquired.
“Senator, I believe he hung himself in a cell in the Metropolitan Detention Center,” Patel said.
FBI Director Kash Patel claims Jeffrey Epstein did, in fact, hang himself in prison—while also revealing he’s working on a plan to release the full Epstein file.
He says the release is coming in the “near future” and that the plan has been carefully built to protect the victims… pic.twitter.com/sLDQ8D9eq9

Kennedy asked Patel if he would be releasing all the information about Epstein’s death, and the FBI director replied, “Senator, we are working through that right now at the Department of Justice.”
The 73-year-old GOP senator then asked if that was likely to happen before he dies.
“Senator, we’ve been working on that and we’re doing it in a way that protects victims and also doesn’t put out into the ether information that is irrelevant for production of the public — such as CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material),” Patel said.
For what it’s worth, a 2023 DOJ Inspector General report detailing the failures that occurred within the Bureau of Prisons leading up to Epstein’s death said that foul play was not possible, according to ABC News.
If there was a common theme in the reactions to the story, it may be that those expecting the promised transparency from the Trump administration on matters such as this are growing impatient — here’s a quick sampling of those responses, as seen on X:
Nobody is asking for child p*rn or private victim info. We want the names, the networks, the blackmail ops, and every government official who was complicit. This is about public safety, not protecting predators under the guise of protecting victims.

Didn’t Bondi just say this same thing before they dropped the “damning” re-release a few months ago? I’m sorry but the transparency we were promised is beginning to look more like a pipe dream. If there’s legitimate reasons why, so be it. But don’t string us along.

Narrator:
It was at this moment that millions of US citizens lost all hope in transparency and justice.

“Protect the victims”? Really? That’s his excuse? How many years has the FBI had this information? How many years have they had to “protect” the victims? Didn’t one of the victims die in sketchy circumstances recently? Was she also “protected”?

How can he definitively say; Epstein hung himself? Dead men tell no tales. So do they have video evidence of him doing the deed or is Kash taking the word of those present when it occurred? So many questions… and likely very few answers.
