Pam Bondi says Democrats ‘detached from reality’ on MS-13 and don’t care about one crucial element

Daily Caller News Foundation

Attorney General Pam Bondi tore into Democrats on Fox News Monday for what she described as their complete disconnect from the real-world consequences of violent crime, particularly when it comes to MS-13 and other organized criminal networks.

Democratic Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen requested a meeting with El Salvador’s president to demand the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man he says was wrongly deported. During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Bondi responded to the news by blasting Democrats and defending President Donald Trump’s decision to designate MS-13 as a foreign terrorist organization.

“These people are so detached from reality that they don’t care about the victims of crimes in this country. There is a reason that Donald Trump declared MS-13 as a foreign terrorist organization,” Bondi told Jesse Watters. “Because they have come to our country, they are highly organized. They are murdering people. They are raping people. They are organized crime at its worst.”

Bondi praised El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele for accepting the deportation of dangerous criminals like the MS-13 member now held at the country’s mega-prison. She also took a jab at progressive policies that she said coddle violent offenders.

“They are spread rampant throughout our country, and we are going to rid our country of MS-13 and TdA [Tren de Aragua]. We’re just thankful that President Bukele will take them in a prison in El Salvador,” Bondi added.

Watters raised the issue of American criminals being sent to overseas facilities and asked if it’s legal.

“Well, Jesse, these are Americans who he is saying who have committed the most heinous crimes in our country, and crime is going to decrease dramatically because he has given us a directive to make America safe again,” Bondi said. “These people need to be locked up as long as they can, as long as the law allows. We’re not going to let them go anywhere, and if we have to build more prisons in our country, we will do it.”
