The law enforcement veteran and InVest USA founder discusses the recent attacks on Elon Musk’s brand – and why they need to be stopped.
It seems that whenever someone is happy about something, they can’t just go and post about it on social media. They look to take some form of action in an effort for their voice to be heard. But what they fail to realize is that there are consequences for such action.
Case in point – the whole “defund the police” movement following the death of George Floyd back in 2020. This led to a fallout where thousands believed that removing police funds would “teach them a lesson.” However, here we are, years later, with thousands of officers leaving their posts voluntarily or through retirement, while several cities see an all-time high increase in crime.
And now here we are again, with many uneasy about the return of Donald Trump to the White House. What’s more, they’re just as furious that Elon Musk has been put in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in an effort to produce a better cash windfall for our country.
How furious? Well, through association, they’ve decided to take their rage out on Musk’s own Tesla electric car brand. And I don’t mean just protesting in front of their nearby dealership. I mean taking violent, unhinged action against the brand.
For instance, we’ve seen attacks in dealerships, with people setting fire to cars and defacing buildings with spray paint. We’ve also seen attacks on private citizens for merely owning a Tesla, with some vehicles even being blown up as a result.
It’s completely unnecessary. But what’s most shocking about all this is how some Democrats actually endorse this kind of action, believing it’s the right move when it comes to “sticking it” to Trump. Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel even went as far as to jokingly tell people not to attack Tesla, though obviously he’s encouraging it.
What is happening here? We’ve got people who swear it’s a good thing to attack hard-working citizens and a business because of association. We’ve got politicians applauding at the fiery destruction of automobiles? Just because they can’t stand Donald Trump? It absolutely makes no sense.
Fortunately, Trump isn’t taking this issue lying down. Far from it. He’s already labeled these attacks on Tesla as “domestic terrorism,” and rightfully so. These foolhardy “rebels” who believe they’re sticking it to “the man” are instead putting police officers and innocent civilians in harm’s way for their actions.
And today, the FBI is following suit. It has announced that they’re putting together a task force to specifically hunt down those responsible for these attacks. Some believe it’s a foolish mistake, with Rep. Daniel Goldman believing this is nothing more than “the political weaponization of the DOJ.”
How so? Trump is trying to control the chaos brought on by these few who believe they’re doing the right thing in destroying vehicles and defacing property, all for the sake of getting their opinion across in a much more fiery manner. It’s terrorism, plain and simple. There’s no “weaponization” here, merely law and order. They committed crimes, and should answer for them. Simple.
The FBI’s new director, Kash Patel, even made this point crystal clear when announcing the task force. “Those responsible will be pursued, caught, and brought to justice.” Exactly.
Democrats and talk show hosts can applaud these people all they want, but the minute – and I mean the absolute second an innocent civilian or officer gets injured or, worse yet, killed – they’re going to shut their traps. Because that’s the imminent danger that could await if these attacks are allowed to continue. We can’t let that happen. We need to protect. Remember, that’s what the police stand for – “to protect and serve.”
I do wish the FBI well with its Task Force, and I hope they track down every one of these “domestic heroes” who feel they’re getting their message across. The truth is, their violent acts are actually making matters worse than anything Trump could be producing.
Free speech is a right., of course. But not at the cost of someone else’s property or safety. Period.
