Dana Loesch appeared on Fox News Wednesday to rip the Democrats for what she said is a blatant double standard on women’s rights in sports.
During his joint address to Congress on Tuesday, President Donald Trump spoke about his executive order prohibiting biological men from competing in women’s sports and introduced 19-year-old Payton McNabb, a guest who suffered a traumatic brain injury after a male who identifies as a female forcefully spiked a volleyball at her. This prompted a discussion on “The Ingraham Angle.” Loesch said she was dismayed over double standards that prioritize transgender athletes over biological women in sports settings.
“The left tells us that if a man who wants to be a woman feels uncomfortable in men’s changing spaces, then he’s accommodated. But if a woman feels uncomfortable about a man in women’s changing spaces, then they’re called bigots,” Loesch told host Laura Ingraham.

“Women are called bigots. They’re ridiculed, and they’re publicly smeared in the press. This is the promotion of one over the other in front of the law, which is completely anti-American and antithetical to everything we’ve established in this republic.”
Loesch said that the policies being enacted by some school administrations, which aim to provide “more privacy for everyone,” are fundamentally flawed and do little to address the discomfort many female athletes feel.
“It’s a weird thing. You go in the locker room. All the other girls are there. You’re changing, you know, all this other stuff, and you just want to get out, and you want to play. Throwing dudes into the mix is just, it’s awkward, it’s uncomfortable, and it’s prioritizing them over the women,” Loesch said.
The radio host and conservative commentator went further.
“It’s not normal anymore. I mean, I always said that November was about normalcy; it’s about the normal election. And they might be on the left, but they’re normal on the left. They’re more like classical liberals, more normal moderates, more normal people on the left,” Loesch said when Ingraham asked her about Martina Navratilova and J.K. Rowling, who have been ostracized for holding views that don’t align perfectly with the left’s.
“They’re not like some of the folks that we saw actually at the address last night in the audience. But it’s a shame that there’s not even that kind of common ground or that Democrats can’t even be, the left can’t even be so normal as to come together and unify on these issues.”
A January New York Times/Ipsos poll said that approximately 80% of Americans oppose allowing biological males to participate in female sports. Another poll from Harvard CAPS Harris conducted from Feb. 19 to Feb. 20 shows that 69% of respondents favor prohibiting men who identify as women from participating in girls’ sports, with the support breaking down to 50% among Democrats, 86% among Republicans, and 70% among independents or others.
