Fox News host Harris Faulkner questioned Wednesday if MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace and congressional Democrats became “living heart donors” after their reaction to Devarjaye “D.J.” Daniel being named an honorary Secret Service agent.
Secret Service Director Sean Curran presented Daniel, who is battling terminal brain cancer, with a badge during President Donald Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress, receiving a hug from the 13-year-old Houston-area resident who has been sworn in as an honorary member of over 900 police departments. Faulkner described Wallace as a “hurt person” that chose to “hurt others” while commenting on the reaction to Daniel’s moment in the spotlight during a panel discussion on “Outnumbered.”
“What happened to Nicole Wallace? She was a Republican, she was the comms director for former President [George] W. Bush. She was somebody who could see the nation in a nonpartisan way when it called for that from the White House. She could see Americans. What is she looking at right now?” Faulkner asked. “She has joined the liberal side of the chamber last night, who I can now call, I mean literally, the largest convention of heart donors living on the planet. Living heart donors!”

“What happened to that beating passion inside of their chest that said, ‘We want to do great things for America and Americans?’ If they ever said it, did they even mean it?” Faulkner continued. “I understand they are struggling to find a message and a leader and all of that, but is the struggle so hard that you have been so damaged, that now as a hurt person you hurt others? That’s what I thought of when she was speaking. I thought there’s been real heart damage here, and she’s hurting, so I guess she’s gonna punch and kick. Rachel Maddow is just sitting there nodding. It was heartbreaking. I mean, I guess that’s the thing. It’s not anger, it is disappointment. But it’s heartbreak.”
Wallace ranted about the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol building while discussing Trump’s announcement that the 13-year-old cancer survivor would become an honorary Secret Service agent on MSNBC Tuesday night. During the Tuesday night speech before Congress, Trump noted that Daniel had survived for six years despite being told he had less than five months to live.
“I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters, and if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide, and I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people,” Wallace said Tuesday night.
Video of the speech showed many Democrats did not stand and applaud Daniel at the speech, with multiple social media accounts saying Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell of Michigan rolled her eyes when Daniel was introduced by Trump.
