The law enforcement veteran discusses Patel’s potential move to the head position for the troubled government agency.
Kash Patel has certainly had a busy week.
He’s already gone through a huge amount of grilling in the Senate, but has finally been appointed to become the new director of the FBI. I’m sure he will do just fine in the role, bringing the agency back to prominence when it comes to justice. He’ll certainly do better in the role than previous Director Christopher Wray, tell you what.
But now I’m hearing rumblings that he might also take over another agency. He reportedly is in the lead spot to become the head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), according to this Fox News report.
Nothing is official just yet, but the appointment could happen as soon as this week if everything goes according to plan.
Honestly, this is a move for the better. I know this would be a world of work for Patel, but the man clearly has justice on his mind. Especially after seeing what previous President Joe Biden did with his administration over the past few years.
And the ATF has clearly been a funnel of that. While the bureau could have easily worked better on working alongside police or going after real criminals, it instead, under Biden, under minded the Second Amendment rights of hard-working citizens.
How bad did Biden get? At one point, he went after “ghost gun” kits, believing that regulating gun parts that are available online was the answer. But what he doesn’t seem to realize is that, if people want the weapons, they would’ve gotten their hands on them anyway. He obviously could’ve taken the agency in another direction.
Not to mention infringing upon the rights of current gun owners. He sent the ATF after Mark “Choppa” Manley last year, a man who legally owns more than 70 firearms, all of which are kept in a gun safe. But, surprise, they saw him as a threat.
It just goes to show how absolutely misguided Biden has been over the past few years. He created chaos with our borders by allowing thousands of undocumented illegal immigrants into our country (a mess that Trump is currently cleaning up alongside ICE); and the FBI and ATF alike have both been messing with the lives of innocent civilians, rather than going after criminals.
So, yeah, at this point, it’s time to flip the script. Which the Trump Administration is clearly doing.
And I can’t help but think Patel can take the ATF in a new direction, just as he’s poised to do with the FBI. That means more of a “no nonsense” approach to justice, actually pursuing threats rather than believing innocent civilians are the threats.
For that matter, if we’re going to crack down on gun violence, there are better ways to go about it than violating the rights of the Second Amendment. Need I remind everyone that these are rights provided by the Constitution. People do have the right to arm themselves, though they do need to prove they can handle their firearm responsibly. That’s always been the way.
Again, there’s nothing official yet, and I’m sure Patel already has his hands full trying to figure out the right move for the FBI at this point in time. But, again, I’m confident. In the face of the mistakes that Biden has made with both agencies, Patel seems like the person that can literally pull their feet out from the fire.
I’m sure Patel will have his fair share of critics – like the Senate Democrats that had no trouble grilling him like a steak on his way to his appointment into the FBI. But I really think he’s going to make moves for the better. And, for that matter, moves that involve working alongside our dedicated men and women in law enforcement – which, surprise, Biden has been ignoring for a majority of his term in office.
Here’s to a better future for the FBI and the ATF. Here’s to a better future for justice. I’m cheering you on, Kash!
