It seems as if one lawmaker is making an effort to give American voters what they want: Accountability for the money that has been sent to Ukraine.
After effectively having their run of our federal dollar under former President Joe Biden’s administration, it would appear that Ukraine may have to begin accounting for how they are spending financial assistance received from the United States. At least, that will be the case if Sen. Josh Hawley makes good on his vow to introduce legislation to that effect.
In an X post from Tuesday, he proposed the introduction of a “special inspecter general” to keep everyone in check.
It’s time for a special inspector general dedicated to auditing EVERY PENNY spent on Ukraine

“It’s time for a special inspector general dedicated to auditing EVERY PENNY spent on Ukraine,” he wrote.
In another post, he announced that he plans to bring legislation to the Senate floor.
I will again introduce on the floor of the Senate legislation to create a watchdog whose *sole responsibility* is auditing every dollar spent on Ukraine – and reporting back to the American people

Start by investigating Lindsay Graham he seems to be a little too comfortable, giving American taxpayer money to Ukraine and Zelensky.

@DOGE is doing a better job as a “watchdog” than Congress will ever do. The obvious reason is that many in Congress are receiving kickbacks, many personally, but certainly for their pet projects. Let @DOGE continue to find where our money went. No need for anything else.

Crazy you have to pass legislation to force accountability and transparency

Ok, but don’t tell McConnell or Graham about it.
