Trump answers media narrative blaming him for high egg prices

President Donald Trump just took a blowtorch to the media’s latest obsession: Sky-high egg prices.

During his presidential campaign, Trump vowed to bring down prices affected by inflation that occurred under former President Joe Biden. Unfortunately, egg costs remain stubbornly high and the left is latching onto this to prove that Trump is an ineffective leader.

On Sunday, Trump was barraged by reporters asking about a variety of issues including egg prices. But the president wasn’t about to let them get away with blaming him for the problem.

“Well, there’s a flu. Before I got here, it was already at an all-time high,” Trump explained. “I’ve been here for three weeks. I have had nothing to do with inflation. This was caused by Biden. I had four years of virtually no inflation. So I’m just taking over. But I’ll tell you what, this country has made more progress in the last three weeks than it’s made in the last four years, and we’re respected again as a country.”

At a recent White House Press Briefing, Karoline Leavitt also revealed that the Biden administration ordered the slaughter of over 100 million chickens.

As BizPac Review previously reported, Leavitt educated reporters on the current basis for inflated egg prices.

“I would like to point out to each and every one of you, that in 2024, when Joe Biden was in the Oval Office or upstairs in the residence sleeping, I’m not so sure, egg prices increased 65% in this country,” she said.

“As far as the egg shortage, what’s also contributing to that is that the Biden administration and the Department of Agriculture directed the mass killing of more than 100 million chickens, which has led to a lack of chicken supply in this country, therefore, a lack of egg supply, which is leading to the shortage. So, I will leave you with this point: This is an example of why it’s so incredibly important that the Senate moves swiftly to confirm all of President Trump’s nominees, including his nominee for the United States Department of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, who is already speaking with Kevin Hassett, who’s leading the economic team here at the White House, on how we can address the egg shortage in this country.”
