‘I totally agree’: Charlamagne, co-hosts back Trump’s ban on men in women’s sports

Daily Caller News Foundation

Charlamagne Tha God and his fellow co-hosts on “The Breakfast Club” voiced support on Thursday for President Donald Trump’s executive order banning biological men from competing in women’s sports.

Trump signed the order on Wednesday to prohibit biological men from participating in women’s sports under Title IX across the United States. “The Breakfast Club” co-hosts all expressed agreement with the order or provided arguments in favor of it, with Charlamagne asserting no biological man should have ever been able to compete in women’s sports.

“Not going to get any complaints on me about that. I can’t even believe that had to be signed because this should have never been a thing,” Charlamagne said. “I totally agree with that one.”

“Yeah, I would say that too. I always go back to that one swimmer that, as a man, the swimmer was like in 400th place, and then when she transed to a woman, was in first place,” DJ Envy responded. “And how sad all those parents were because their daughters were training and felt like they were cheated. So, yeah, I’m with this one as well.”

Morgyn Wood noted Envy was referring to Lia Thomas, a biological man who won the 500-yard women’s final participation in the 2022 NCAA championships.

“I also do want to say, Morgyn, though this is a real nothing burger because less than 0.02% of — I think, trans — what do you call them? Trans men? Trans women? Trans people participate in sport at an Olympic level,” Charlamagne added. “But one is too many. And there shouldn’t be no men playing in women’s sports.”

Jess Hilarious retorted that the issue is “not a nothing burger,” which Charlamagne agreed with. However, he asserted there are not many men who are competing in women’s sports.

“Maybe they’re getting out ahead of the issue before it becomes that much of a bigger issue,” Wood said.

A White House official informed reporters that the Department of Education will be probing any school that breaches the presidential action by enabling biological men to compete in women’s sports on any level.

Trump had pledged to ban biological men from competing in women’s sports during his campaign including during an October Fox News town hall with host Harris Faulkner.

“We stop it. We stop it. We absolutely stop it. You can’t have it. It’s a man playing in the game,” Trump said after being asked a question on the topic by a woman whose granddaughters are involved in sports. “I mean, physically from a muscular standpoint. Even if it was a little bit less, maybe they do all sorts of tests and drugs and everything else. Look at what’s happened in swimming. Look at the records that are being broken.”

“You just ban it, the president bans it. You just don’t let it happen,” Trump said after Faulkner asked how he would address the issue.

Former President Joe Biden’s administration attempted to rewrite Title IX to include gender identity, but a federal court officially blocked the effort on Jan. 9. The rule rewrite would have enabled biological men to compete in women’s sports and utilize women’s spaces.
