Video exposes LA Mayor Karen Bass is still lying about lifting restrictions

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass told President Donald Trump that rebuilding efforts could begin as soon as possible, but a viral video may prove that to be a lie.

When Trump visited California on Friday, he was able to witness the sheer, unfathomable destruction caused by the fires in the area. People fled their homes with little, and many tragically lost everything to the blaze and some are seeking legal recourse against the city authorities whose bad decisions made the disaster worse.

One of those officials is Bass, whose actions before and during the fires may result in a recall effort. During Trump’s visit, she claimed that efforts to restore the homes, businesses and infrastructure lost could begin “right away” and in an X post she promised that officials are trying to “expedite federal timelines” in a safe way.

But a video posted by X user “@DaveHarvilicz” gives a glimpse into the situation that residents are dealing with, and it looks like some areas are nowhere close to the rebuilding phase.

Watch:

The clip runs less than a minute, showing the man talking to a member of the US Army.

“I haven’t been able to get to the house since January 7th. It’s January 25th. President Trump said we could go now – what’s going on?” he asked the uniformed soldier.

“I’m not too sure sir. Unfortunately with us, we play by ear. With LAPD, they talk to our command and then our command tells us what LAPD says,” he explained.

“So LAPD is saying I can’t go to my house?” the man pressed, looking for answers. “Without a police escort?”

“You can get to your house but you need a police escort,” the soldier confirmed.

“And how long does that take?”

“I’m not too sure, sir, there’s a lot of folks trying to get to their house right now so it could even be like an hour or two, trying to get to your house,” the soldier said.

“But why can’t I just drive up there?” the man asked, clearly confused.

“Because it’s a hard closure, sir, like I said there’s only escorts … It’s not that I’m preventing you from going to your house-”

“No you literally are preventing me from going to my house,” the man interrupted.

“I’m telling you you can go get a police escort to go to your house,” the officer added.

Does that sound like an area ready to rebuild at the drop of a hat?
