Democrats — a primer in how to screw up a country

Wherever Democrats are in power, the result is disaster. Every city that has gone to ruin has been run by Democrats. We can see that recently by the destructive impact of mayors Karen Bass in Los Angeles, Eric Adams and Bill de Blasio in New York, and Lori Lightfoot and Brandon Johnson in Chicago—just to name a few. On the national scene, Barack Obama and Joe Biden have left the country in a shambles. What is wrong with the Democrat Party?

Today’s Democrat Party militates for increased governmental control over every aspect of our lives, limitations on free speech and freedom of the press, replacement of capitalism with socialism, meritocracy with race-based criteria, a reduction of American power and influence, and a dysfunctional version of social justice. All of these items were part of Obama’s platform. Obama hates America. Joe Biden has effectively been Obama 2.0.

The Democrat’s conception of “social justice” may sound like a good idea, but in reality, it is designed to divide the country into warring factions based on the idea that minority groups are oppressed by “racist white America.” White people are targeted as the enemy. Democrats have endorsed attempts to decrease the percentage of the population that is white, largely by inviting in more and more illegal immigrants who presumably will vote Democrat.

The Democrat Party has devoted the last 50 years to destroying the meaning of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which aimed for equality of opportunity by outlawing discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, and national origin. People were to be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the quality of their character. In a “multicultural” Democrat world, character becomes irrelevant as the Democrats divide Americans into competing groups based on color and ethnicity.

The social vision of the Democrat Party has been the enemy of minorities. The welfare state advocated and implemented by Democrats has trapped “people of color” in its hateful web. “The belief that people are entitled to what others have produced,” said economist Thomas Sowell, “is at the heart of the social degeneration that can be traced back to the 1960s.” The breakdown of the black family, teenage pregnancies, and increased crime in black communities can all be traced back to the welfare state, said Sowell.

We are at a dangerous moment in US history in which political freedom is under attack. Our country is based on the notion that individual rights take precedence over unlimited governmental power. The Democrat Party seeks to destroy that notion, replacing our government with a totalitarian socialist state run by unaccountable bureaucrats.

For many years, Democrats have been allowing the federal government to insinuate itself into every facet of our lives. “Every single one of [Obama’s] initiatives,” says American Thinker, was “directed at increasing government control in every area, with a corresponding decrease in individual liberty.” An inverse relationship exists between the size/scope of government and respect for individual rights. Where there is more of one, there will be less of the other. As we allow the government to be responsible for more and more of our needs, we relinquish more and more of our independence.

The American Left’s ultimate alternative to democracy is socialism, where the government takes care of everything. Socialism is a form of big government that despises the individual and has been accompanied in every case by totalitarianism.

A prominent Democrat mouthpiece, in his moment of transparency, has shown us what we can expect from Democrats. Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that he thinks “there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom.” Bloomberg is giving us an important clue about Democrat political philosophy. “Bloomberg is the archetype of the ‘Nanny knows best’ authoritarian who will happily deprive you of your rights and your freedoms in the name of protecting you,” wrote Scott Shackford in Reason Magazine. “Bloomberg has decided that his destiny is to lead our nation out of the burden of individual liberty and personal responsibility,” said Jeff Knox at lewrockwell.com, “and into the peace of conformity, subjugation, and dependency.”

“Bloomberg’s attitude is dangerous—and ubiquitous,” says Investor’s Business Daily. “Elected officials all across this land of the free feel the same as he does, though they rarely express it as vocally as he has. If the state can infringe on freedom at ‘certain times,’ then it can do it at any time. Once that wall has been breached, it’s only a matter of how far government goes.”

Investor’s Business Daily reminds us that the infringements have occurred at a startling pace: the massive welfare state, weaponization of the IRS, Obamacare, subsidies for politically favored groups, First Amendment violations, unequal protection under the law, and FBI surveillance of American citizens. All perpetrated by Democrats.

In terms of sheer corruption, all we have to do is look at Democrats Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Chuck Schumer, Gavin Newsom, Alvin Bragg, Maxine Waters, and of course—the worst of them—Joe Biden, who weaponized the federal government to go after his political adversaries. Pure Stalinism.

President Trump will face the Democrat-dominated Deep State that is ready to stop Trump’s policies. “The Biden White House has worked hard at reorganizing the federal bureaucracy in key departments,” writes Stephen Green at PJ Media, “to continue imposing the same policies voters just rejected.” We are exceedingly fortunate that Trump is not beholden to anyone. He can be expected to clean up a lot of the mess created by Democrats as long as one of them doesn’t assassinate him first.
