‘Trump shows me what’s politically possible’: Charlamagne torches Dems for lacking ‘balls’ to speak their minds

Daily Caller News Foundation

Radio host Charlamagne Tha God criticized Democrats on Wednesday for their unwillingness to speak boldly and authentically, drawing a sharp contrast with President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump held a press conference Tuesday, during which he announced his plan to change the Gulf of Mexico’s name to the “Gulf of America” and discussed the prospects of acquiring Greenland, the Panama Canal and Canada, CNN reported. Charlamagne, on “The Breakfast Club,” praised Trump’s audacious approach to politics while condemning Democrats for their more cautious rhetoric.

“Donald Trump shows me what’s politically possible. Trump shows me what presidents can do if they want to do it. Donald Trump shows me what can be said if you are willing to say it,” Charlamagne said. “It’s not about what can’t be done; it’s about who has the political will to do it. I don’t want to hear a peep from Democrats about nothing until they get the balls to say what’s really on their mind in regards to this country and this world.”

“Trump doesn’t care if it sounds ridiculous. Trump doesn’t care if it makes sense. It’s no political correctness whatsoever,” he continued. “As I’ve been saying for years, the language of politics is dead, and Donald Trump killed it. Period.”

Charlamagne also warned Tuesday that Democrats are likely to face an uphill battle in order to win elections during the 2026 midterms due to their flip-flopping rhetoric about Trump damaging their credibility with voters.

“It’s almost like Democrats don’t realize how they screw themselves for the future because the midterms are right around the corner. The only thing they can hope for is that Republicans implode and F things up so bad that the American people are just dying for a change,” he said. “Because there is nothing Democrats can say about Republicans that we should believe after they spent weeks calling Trump a fascist and calling Republicans fascists and telling us it would be the end of democracy, only to put a button on all of that.”

For instance, Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden on Nov. 7 both gave optimistic speeches about the presidential election results, with neither characterizing Trump as a threat to democracy or an authoritarian despite making that a prominent issue in their campaigns against him.
