‘They don’t give a sh*t’: Chris Cuomo unloads on Dems for what they ‘did to Donald Trump’

Daily Caller News Foundation

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo criticized Democrats on Tuesday for their pursuit of President-elect Donald Trump through impeachment and legal cases in New York.

Trump faced two Democratic-led impeachments during his presidency and two legal cases in New York brought by Democrats after leaving office. Cuomo, on “The Chris Cuomo Project,” told MSNBC’s Charlie Sykes that the first impeachment was “a political indulgence” and that the New York cases were “crap” aimed at undermining Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

WATCH:

“I believe that what the Democrats did to Donald Trump — which I covered which was the job — to impeach a guy when you know you have no chance of getting him removed — okay, zero chance — that was a political indulgence to do nothing but distract from the interests of the people,” Cuomo said. “And you were creating an impression of a standard that you never had any intention of holding up yourself.”

Trump was acquitted in both of the impeachments in 2020 and 2021 respectively. However, he was ordered in February to pay over $400 million to New York in the civil fraud action commenced by the state’s Democratic Attorney General Letitia James and criminally convicted in May in the case brought by Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“And the Democrats have proven the problem with their actions. Those New York cases, Charlie, were crap, and they only brought them to try to slow down Trump. We both know it,” he continued. “And what they did with [Vice President] Kamala Harris is proof that they don’t give a shit about any higher standard. They didn’t even allow for Democratic process in their own stupid little club where they can do whatever they want.”

Harris secured enough support from Democratic delegates to become the party’s presumptive nominee in July, despite receiving virtually no primary voter approval. Left-wing voters and former President Bill Clinton adviser Doug Schoen asserted at the time that they disapproved of the process.
