Where is the legacy media when you need them? After weeks of fevered reporting refuting claims that cats were being eaten in Ohio, you could hear a pin drop in media circles when a woman in the Buckeye State was sentenced Monday to more than two years in prison after being accused of killing and eating a cat.

Allexis T. Ferrell, of Canton, who was accused of “stomping” the cat’s head then eating it, pleaded guilty to a charge of animal cruelty, receiving a 12-month prison sentence, according to Fox 8 Cleveland — she was also sentenced on probation violations in two prior cases, which were triggered by the animal cruelty case.

“Ferrell was sentenced in April 2023 to three years probation on a felony count of endangering children, court records show. Due to the new conviction, she will now serve an additional 18 months in prison on those charges, for a total sentence of 30 months,” the affiliate reported.

Stark County Common Pleas Judge Frank Forchione expressed his “disgust” with Ferrell, 27, while handing down the sentence, telling her that she “embarrassed the nation,” according to the Massillon Independent.

“To me, you present quite a danger to our community,” Forchione said. “This is repulsive to me. I mean, that anyone would do this to an animal. And an animal’s like a child. I don’t know if you understand that or not. I can’t express the disappointment, shock, disgust that this crime has brought to me.”

“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats,” Trump said in reference to reports from the ground. “They’re eating the pets of the people that live there.”
