Hunter’s pardon means it’s time to drag him before Congress

President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son may have a silver lining, according to a former U.S. ambassador to Israel.

David Friedman pointed out in an X post that the decision to pardon Hunter Biden may secretly be a boon for Republicans, many of whom have questions about his business dealings involving his father.

“I’m not sure that Joe Biden has fully considered the ramifications of his pardon of Hunter. The pardon is extremely broad and covers activities while Joe was vice president. This means that Hunter cannot plead the Fifth if asked about his business dealings with Ukraine and China, including his Dad’s involvement, because, with his pardon, he has no risk of criminal jeopardy,” Friedman explained.

Indeed, the Fifth Amendment only applies to the right to avoid self-incrimination, but without the threat of criminal charges looming overhead, Hunter would not be able to hide behind the constitutional right when it comes to questions that have been burning in the minds of Americans since the infamous laptop went public.

I wonder about the timing of the pardon. Usually pardon’s are done at the 11th hour on January 19th. That way they are old news. Why do this now on Sunday start of news cycle. Also why not issue them on Friday afternoon after the weekly news cycle’s been completed?

There’s also turn the other cheek which in this case essentially means turn and walk away from the old man suffering from dementia and use the next four years productively. The Bidens are no longer relevant. Trump should turn the other cheek and focus on more important things.

His pardon of Hunter is only the beginning. I expect many more, increasingly disturbing, pardons to come before Biden leaves office. I also expect him to pardon himself.

Hmmm, and contempt would then be a current crime and outside of the parameters of his pardon.
Hunter could be immediately incarcerated indefinitely at that point.
