Newsom takes a lashing over disastrous Thanksgiving message: ‘Did Harvey Weinstein direct this??’

As Americans gathered with their friends and families to celebrate their blessings, California Gavin Newsom was busy stepping on a rake.

Newsom and his wife, Jennifer, put together a Thanksgiving Day message that caused quite a stir on X, especially among those who haven’t forgotten what happened to California during the pandemic under the governor’s leadership.

Watch:

“Thanksgiving is about gratitude. It’s about appreciating what you have and who you are with,” Newsom’s wife opens the video.

“And for Jen and I, that’s our kids, and our extended family and friends,” Gavin chimed in. “But we’re also grateful, well, for all of you, California, for all that the state is and for all that it stands for.”

“This state has long been known as the land of opportunity,” Jennifer added.

“And we still are, but today we’re also, well, we’ve grown a little bit and we’ve learned from our past, and we proudly support all of those, all of those that dream, not just the few,” the governor said.

“That’s why Thanksgiving is an opportunity to especially celebrate the Native people of this land and reflect on their perseverance and their resilience,” Jennifer smiled.

“So we’re grateful for all that you do and all that you are,” Gavin stated.

The thankful platitudes did little to stave off criticism:
