Would-be assassin reacts after leftist try to recruit him to kill Trump

John Hinckley Jr. was released without conditions 2 1/2 years ago after he wounded President Ronald Reagan and three others in a failed 1981 assassination attempt, and he has since dedicated himself to a life of music and peace.

However, with the historic election of Donald Trump for the second time as president, tormentors on social media have been appealing to Hinckley, who spent decades in a psychiatric hospital, to return to his violent past.

Taking to X, a frustrated Hinckley cried out, “I’m a man of peace now! Please stop with all the negative comments!”

Unfortunately, the post spurred more of the same from those who could not care less about Hinckley’s inner tranquility, as seen here:

Trump was struck in the ear by a would-be assassin’s bullet in Pennsylvania, and another would-be assassin was discovered while lying in wait as the former president played a round of golf. The Justice Department announced on Friday that an Iranian plot to kill Trump had been thwarted. Charges were filed against Farhad Shakeri, 51, who was allegedly tasked with surveilling and ultimately assassinating Trump — Shakeri remains at large in Iran.

Overall, Hinckley saw plenty of support, but skeptics were well represented in the responses to his post as well… here’s a quick sampling of those responses, as seen on X:
