Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy on Wednesday criticized the Democratic Party and Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign after their loss to former President Donald Trump.
Trump secured 270 electoral votes after winning North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania just before 2 a.m. EST on Wednesday, according to multiple election forecasters. Portnoy posted an Instagram video around this time where he asserted the Democrats’ rhetoric was a motivating factor for Americans to support Trump.

“People like myself, independents or moderates, the Democrats gave us no choice … That was the worst campaign and their pure arrogance and their moral superiority have driven people away,” Portnoy said. “If you say you’re voting for Trump, suddenly you’re a Nazi, you’re Hitler, you’re garbage. Enough. Enough.”
“You are alienating all these middle-ground people by acting like you’re better than us, smarter than us, and frankly insulting our intelligence. Trump’s the threat to democracy? That was the entire Democratic campaign,” he added. “Wasn’t about policy because everyone knew we want change … Kamala consistently said she was no different than [President] Joe Biden, wouldn’t do anything different than Joe Biden, last person in the room.”
Harris told “The View” on Oct. 8 that nothing “comes to mind” when she faced a question about how she would govern differently from Biden.
“Her pitch to the people was Trump is Hitler, Trump is bad, he’s a dictator … We’re not stupid,” Portnoy said. “The Democrats are the ones who were saying Joe Biden was mentally fit for two years when he’s a vegetable and couldn’t even make it offstage from giving a speech.”
Portnoy also accused the Democrats of staging “a coup” to replace Biden with Harris as the party’s nominee.
“The people pulling the strings of the Democratic Party, get rid of ’em, they’ve lost the plot. Tonight is on the Democrats,” he said. “Congratulations Donald Trump, I voted for him and I felt I had no choice but to vote for him.”
