NFL star crashes teammates’ postgame interview with surprise MAGA love

There seems to be an odd phenomenon taking place in the 2024 presidential election that goes along with an apparent surge of support for former President Donald Trump among young Americans, which is the shedding of any reluctance to voice support for the Republican nominee.

Look no further than Sunday Night Football, where the San Francisco 49ers put a beatdown on Jerry Jones’ hapless Dallas Cowboys. After the game, NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark was conducting a live interview with Niners players Brock Purdy, George Kittle, and Isaac Guerendo, when star defensive end Nick Bosa crashed the production rocking a gold-on-white “Make America Great Again” hat.

The stunt came with just over a week remaining before Election Day and left no doubt in the minds of viewers about who Bosa was voting for.

Then again, Bosa has a history of supporting Trump. According to the Daily Mail, he also has a history “of tweeting negative statements about black pop culture icons and entertainment properties.”

The British newspaper noted that Bosa’s agent scrubbed his online presence ahead of his surging 2019 draft prospects.

More from the Daily Mail on the so-called “negative” commentary:

Among his deleted tweets were statements in which he called activist and former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick a ‘clown,’ wrote NBA star Dwyane Wade ‘looks like a parrot fish’ and noted that Black Panther was the ‘worst Marvel movie.’

He also tweeted that ‘Beyonce’s music is complete trash’ in 2016, just six days after she released her album Lemonade, featuring the politically-charged song Formation.

As for the show of support, over the weekend Trump was in the battleground state of Pennsylvania campaigning in Happy Valley when he invited the entire Penn State wrestling team onto the stage — the team is not only the reigning national champions, but won 11 of the last 13 collegiate championships.

A member of the team spoke briefly, “Pennsylvania is a super important state and we need to win this election. And let’s make America great again — go vote!”
