New considerations emerge as November 5th approaches

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

As the 2024 election finish line draws near, more considerations surface.

  1. What if we have popular vote and electoral college winners that are different?
  2. What if we have no declared winner by the end of the second day (November 6th)?
  3. What if we have states who refuse to certify the election?

Without question, the possibilities are troubling.

A recent Gallup poll showed Donald Trump up by seven. Yet we have seen numerous polls that are showing Kamala Harris with a slight lead in the popular vote with the seven swing states “too close to call.” Most pundits acknowledge that the result will come down to turnout.

Republicans Believe Trump is Decisively Ahead

When you objectively look at the last four years, it’s hard to NOT believe that Trump will win the 2024 election and win it decisively. The reasons are many.

  1. Inflation has resulted in an $11,000 pay cut for the average American family
  2. Open borders are putting pressure on the already taxed entitlement system.
  3. The recent Hurricane Helene debacle has magnified the federal government’s incompetence.
  4. Crime is on the rise, especially Migrant crime, despite Democrat efforts to mask it.
  5. The International scene is smoldering, an accident waiting to happen.
  6. Basic American values such as the sanctity of marriage are being ridiculed and chastised by far-left players.
  7. The corporate media, especially over-the-air broadcasting has taken on a role as “apparatchiks” for the Democrat party.
  8. Lifelong Democrat statespersons, R. F. K. Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have called out their former party for censorship.
  9. “D.E.I.” (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) is contemporary slang for reverse discrimination.
  10. The average American believes that their government has forgotten them, in favor of globalist interests.

The Harris campaign contends that they have been pro-active, the voice of the American middle class. They are saying the usual “Trump only cares about the wealthy” and his proposed tax cuts reflect this position. She claims to champion the working poor, promising everything from first-time home buyer grants to 50k grants to small businesses.

Missing is her acknowledgment that these same people are being hurt more by her administration’s policies than ANY Americans. Her party suggests, “do as you are told, vote as we tell you because it’s in your best interest.”  This was especially notable when Barack Obama scolded Black men for not enthusiastically hopping aboard the Harris train!

Trump supporters see Harris and company as a “combination of impudence and impotence.” There has been a concerted effort by the mainstream media to mask their ineptitudes. The Harris camp talks about MAGA “misinformation.” Yet they are accusing the Trump Administration of potentially doing, WHAT THEY ARE ALREADY DOING!

The Imminent Danger Within

Here is the problem.

When you have experienced a recent disputed election, you are already skeptical. Coupled with Trump’s better poll numbers in 2024 as compared to 2016 and 2020, many are expecting a landslide. And for good reason. In Bret Baier’s recent sit down with Harris, he reminded the Vice President that “71% of America thought that the country was on the wrong track.” Not a good report card for Biden-Harris!

In Georgia, despite notable efforts, the concern remains that the Dominion voting machines will change the outcomes. This is the fear that haunts all Trump supporters. Some, such as Majorie Taylor Greene have suggested that a “national divorce” may be on the horizon. She is not alone!

Most Republicans have concluded that a Democrat inspired media has already interfered with the 2024 election. Coupled with a partisan Justice Department that has weaponized the government against the 45th President, and you have a perfect storm.

Party leaders are praying for a decisive Trump victory. This would result in both popular and electoral vote wins. A question that is becoming more prominent: “What if Trump wins the electoral college vote, but Harris wins the popular vote?”

The answer: “The military has sworn an oath to defend the constitution. Most are with Trump. If Trump wins sufficient electors, he wins the election, under the existing constitution. Those contesting the result could immediately become “subversives” and threats to the Republic. Something truly ugly could follow.

This is why “same day voting and paper ballots only” are important. The verdict cannot be drawn out, as it was in 2020. The sides are diametrically opposed to the extent that many admit that they would prefer a civil war to live under the other’s rule. Whatever the result, we need to know it sooner than later.
