‘It’s just vile’: Kamala Harris jokingly tells rallygoers if Jimmy Carter can vote they can too

Democratic nominee Kamala Harris was campaigning in Georgia on Saturday with early voting in the Peach State now underway and reportedly producing a record-breaking turnout.

Summoning her best southern black accent, the vice president told rallygoers that if 100-year-old former President Jimmy Carter can cast a vote, so can they — Carter cast his 2024 mail-in ballot on Wednesday, according to the Carter Center.

Harris laughingly placed her hands on her hips and crowed, “If Jimmy Carter can vote early, you can too!”

A clip of Harris’ remarks was shared on social media alongside recent video footage of a very frail Carter — her trademark cackling setting just the right tone.

While grandson Jason Carter admitted to the New York Times last month that the former president is “very, very physically diminished,” son Chip Carter claimed his father was very focused on casting a ballot for Kamala Harris, even more so than his recent birthday.

“He said he didn’t care about that. It’s just a birthday. He said he cared about voting for Kamala Harris,” Chip reportedly said.

The recent video footage of the 100-year-old Democrat would challenge that suggestion.

“This is horrible. It was appalling when they displayed Carter in this manner and now for her to be joking about it is just vile,” conservative pundit Tammy Bruce said in response to Harris.
