Faulkner asks Dem to explain why Harris failed to differentiate herself from Biden during Baier interview

Daily Caller News Foundation

Fox News host Harris Faulker pressed former Democratic state Sen. David Carlucci of New York Thursday about Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance in a Wednesday interview, saying the vice president “was not prepared” for the sit-down.

“Special Report” Anchor Bret Baier interviewed Harris on Fox News Wednesday evening, pressing the vice president on the border and President Joe Biden’s declining health. Faulkner noted that the vice president had difficulty explaining how she would represent a change from Biden.

“She knew she’s going into this, she knew she needed a media blitz, and it wasn’t gonna feel as good as like the late-night shows and… I can’t remember the ladies with the pads,” Faulkner said to Carlucci on “The Faulkner Focus.” “The podcast, forgive me, and ‘The View’ and all of that.”

“Why wasn’t she prepared to answer the key question that Americans want to know, and that is, how are you going to be different than Joe Biden?” Faulkner continued. “72% or better, depending on which period of the time you look at, there have been times it was higher, but not below 70, but people who were polled across the country, different parties, different points of view, say that the country is going in the wrong direction. Everybody wants change.”

Only 27.7% of Americans believe the country is on the right track, according to RealClearPolling, while 64% of Americans consider the country to be on the wrong track.

“I think she did answer it,” Carlucci claimed, later adding, “Yeah, they did have to consolidate it, but she did answer the question. She has said she would not change much of what Biden did.”

Faulkner told Carlucci Harris’ response didn’t tell viewers of the interview “anything.”

“She is the change candidate because she hasn’t been president,” Carlucci maintained. “She is showing that, look, the Biden-Harris administration has worked on many positive things we can point to, and she stands by that, but she is saying she is treading a new path forward. She’s got the energy and the experience to be this dynamic leader.”

Biden’s job approval is currently at 41.4% in the RealClearPolling average of polls from Sept. 19 to Oct. 16. His approval rating on the economy was only 40% in the RealClearPolling average, while only 36.5% gave him good marks on inflation and only 35% approved of his handling of immigration, all of which have been issues emphasized by former President Donald Trump in the campaign.
