‘That’s undeniable’: Joe Rogan claps back at Vice co-founder claiming illegal immigrants can’t vote

Daily Caller News Foundation

Popular podcast host Joe Rogan called out Democrats Wednesday after his guest, Vice Media co-founder Shane Smith, denied that illegal immigrants could vote in elections.

Republicans have repeatedly called out Democrats’ motive behind the push to allow illegal immigrants into the U.S., as the Biden-Harris administration hit record-high encounter numbers over the last three years. On “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Smith and Rogan had been discussing the border crisis, with the host calling out how illegal immigrants are being placed in swing states at a “bizarre” rate.

“Well, the bottom line is a lot of people are being brought into this country and then being shipped to swing states,” Rogan said. “That’s real, that’s undeniable. The percentage of people that are in swing states of illegal immigrants moving to swing states is off the hook. It’s crazy, it’s a bizarre number that seems to be a strategy. It seems — ”

“But why? Because they can’t vote,” Smith said. “I mean, you can vote like in 10, 20 years.”

Rogan pushed back, claiming illegal migrants could “of course” vote, and pointed to the lack of voter ID requirements in Democratic-run states like California.

“Well, first of all, you have no ID voting. Okay, right? This is something that they’ve pushed in California, and they pushed a lot of places,” Rogan said. “There’s only one reason to have no ID, that’s to have people that can vote that shouldn’t be voting. That’s the only reason. If you only want the people to vote that should be voting, you ask for ID. Just like you ask for ID for everything else — for getting on an airplane —”

While Smith jumped in to express his support for voter IDs, Rogan continued, noting that the only “logical” reason to oppose voter ID laws is to allow “people to vote that probably shouldn’t be voting.”

“But listen to me, the only reason to have no ID and to push that, and it’s only being pushed by the Democrats, there’s only one reason that makes any logical sense. You want people to vote that probably shouldn’t be voting, so you can get some extra votes. That’s the only thing that makes sense,” Rogan added.

“So then if you have people like Nancy Pelosi who’s openly talked about giving amnesty to the people that are already here, you have voters now,” Rogan said. “So you have voters in swing states that you brought into this country and you provided them an amazing life. And the Democrats brought them there. They’re going to be loyal to the Democrats, especially if the Democrats continue to provide them with housing and money, and why would you vote that out? Why would you vote for a bunch of people that want to deport you? They’re talking about mass deportations.”

A Scripps News/Ipsos poll from Sept. 18 revealed that 54% of voters support mass deportations of illegal immigrants, including 86% of Republicans, 58% of independents and 25% of Democrats. However, that same month, 158 House Democrats voted against a resolution that would have made non-citizens convicted of sex offenses or domestic violence inadmissible to and eligible for deportation from the U.S.

In early September, several Republican-led states, including Alabama, Virginia, Texas, and Ohio, identified as many as 17,000 noncitizens on state voting rolls and have since removed them.
