House GOP PAC dishes out another $12 million for ads

Daily Caller News Foundation

The Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF), a top GOP Political Action Committee (PAC), is putting another $12 million into political advertisements in key House races, according to a Wednesday press release.

The amount is set to bring CLF’s investment to over $202 million for this cycle, according to the press release. The sum will target the districts of several key House races, including running ads in Harrisburg aimed at helping Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Scott Perry, and ad placements that cover Republican Reps. Brandon Williams and Marc Molinaro’s districts in New York, according to Politico.

Republicans have been on the offensive with political fundraising and launching ads this election cycle amid concerns over Democrats having a spending lead. The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) announced a new six-figure ad buy on Oct. 7 targeting Democrats in the key battleground states of Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Arizona.

Part of the investment is aimed at placing ads in districts in the blue state of California, with $3.6 million going toward Los Angeles, alongside $525,000 going toward Fresno and $250,000 for Sacramento, according to the release.

CLF’s ad investment includes $2.6 million going toward Harrisburg, $1.2 million for Raleigh, $350,000 for Cedar Rapids, $250,000 for Syracuse, and $320,000 in Des Moines. The super PAC is also putting $1.5 million toward streaming service ads in key markets.

“In the last three weeks of the election, we continue to add key final resources where they’ll have the biggest impact,” CLF President Dan Conston said in the release.

CLF announced $18.5 million in ad reservations in September. The group also launched nine new ads in October targeting House Democrats in seven congressional districts, according to an Oct. 2 press release.

“Americans face the consequences of Democrats’ failed agenda every day,” CLF Communications Director Courtney Parella said in the October release. “This election will come down to who voters trust more to get illegal immigration, crime, and rising costs under control — and that’s not House Democrats.”

Meanwhile, Democrats have continued to pour millions into key races across the country, and have outspent their Republican counterparts.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) dished out $79 million on ads targeting Republican Senate candidates in August. Democrats also outspent Republicans in nearly every major senate race besides Ohio in August.

The CLF pointed the Daily Caller News Foundation to a press release on the ad investment in response to a request for comment.
