The Catholic League has slammed leftist Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for mocking the Christian rite known as the Eucharist.
As previously reported, this past week Whitmer appeared in a bizarre, salacious, and some say erotic video posted to Instagram in which she fed a Doritos chip to a kneeling feminist influencer.

Enter the Catholic League, which published a statement from President Bill Donohue on Friday accusing Whitmer of having “insulted Catholics nationwide when she intentionally ridiculed the Eucharist in a video.”
“There is no way to understand this stunt other than as an expression of vintage anti-Catholic bigotry,” he wrote. “Whitmer’s team, and her allies in the media, are trying to distort what she did.”
“They are saying she was merely mimicking a popular trend on social media where people are shown feeding each other. Some apologists even say this is being done to support the CHIPS Act, a bill that supports the semiconductor industry,” he added.
But both claims are lies, according to Donohue.
“There are indeed many clips of people feeding each other on social media, but there is no reference to the CHIPS Act, nor are they eating chips,” he noted in his post. “The typical video on TikTok shows one person sitting at a table, often in a restaurant, being fed—usually with a fork or spoon—by a friend.”
“None of them are kneeling. None of them are receiving food on the tongue. What Whitmer did was to deride Holy Communion. There is no wiggle room for her to deny the obvious,” he added.

Donohue concluded his statement by promising a war against Whitmer.
“We are pulling out all the stops on this one,” he explained. “In addition to our big list of email subscribers, the Catholic League staff will send this news release to every Catholic parish in Michigan. We will blanket the Michigan media.”
“We will contact every member of the Michigan legislature. We will also feature her stunt on the front page of the November issue of our monthly journal, Catalyst. What Whitmer did is political suicide,” he added.
In a statement issued to The Hill, Whitmer’s Fight Like Hell PAC spokesperson Helene Hare sought to defend the embattled governor by claiming that “the governor’s social media is well known for infusing her communications with pop culture.”
“This popular trend has been used by countless people, including Billie Eilish to Kylie Jenner to Stephen Colbert, and the fact that people are paying attention to a video promoting President Biden’s CHIPS Act proves it’s working,” she said.
“Republicans want to distract from the fact that Democrats have invested billions of dollars into local economies to create a record number of jobs and bring supply chains back from overseas, while Donald Trump’s policies would kill these jobs and send them back to China,” she added.
But it’s not just Republicans criticizing her — it’s CATHOLICS, a plurality of whom lean to the left, according to the Pew Research Center.
In fact, the video is so gross that even NON-CATHOLICS have taken note.
