Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has reported a fundraising total of over $160 million in September alone as the 2024 November presidential election draws closer.
The financial influx stems from the combined efforts of Trump’s official campaign, joint fundraising committees, and the Republican National Committee, according to Politico. About 96% of these contributions were below $200, with the average donation for the month approximating $60, cumulatively boosting the campaign’s coffers to $283 million as it braces for the electoral home stretch.
“President Trump continues to inspire millions of everyday Americans to join his America First movement and help fuel the campaign with their hard-earned money. In September, nearly 2.5 million donations under $200 were made,” Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement, Politico reported.

Donations from September are slightly higher than the previous month, with Trump’s campaign saying on Sept. 4 that it had secured approximately $130 million in contributions throughout August. The August total is slightly lower than July’s $140 million haul that was gathered following an assassination attempt on July 13, while competing candidate Vice President Kamala Harris raised $361 million in August, Politico stated.
Republican Voters Against Trump, a coalition opposing Trump’s candidacy, also collected over $35 million to support Harris in the forthcoming November election. Spearheaded by conservative strategist Sarah Longwell and including notable figures such as Bill Kristol and Tim Miller, the group launched an $11 million advertising blitz in critical battlegrounds like Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, with a campaign goal of $50 million.
Trump’s current fundraising trajectory also falls short of his 2020 campaign achievements, Politico noted. In the 2020 election cycle, his campaign, in conjunction with the Republican National Committee, raised $247.8 million in September alone.
