Free State of Florida advises against ANY use of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine

The Florida Department of Health has advised against any use of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines going into the fall and winter, and said for those 65 and older with underlying health conditions, healthcare providers should “prioritize patient access to non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and treatment.”

An uptick of COVID-19 typically accompanies the fall and winter seasons, though the symptoms of the virus are now comparable to the common cold in most cases.

“Based on the high rate of global immunity and currently available data, the State Surgeon General advises against the use of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines,” the department said in a release. “Any provider concerned about the health risks associated with COVID-19 for patients over the age of 65 or with underlying health conditions should prioritize patient access to non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and treatment.”

Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo encouraged residents to prioritize physical activity, minimize processed foods, prioritize vegetables and healthy fats, and spend time outdoors to support necessary vitamin D levels.

The release included the following outstanding mRNA COVID-19 vaccine safety and efficacy concerns:

The mRNA COVID-19 vaccines present a risk of subclinical and clinical myocarditis and other cardiovascular conditions among otherwise healthy individuals.

The mRNA COVID-19 vaccine may be associated with an increased risk of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).

The mRNA COVID-19 vaccine may be associated with an increased risk of autoimmune diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis.

Other concerns shared include “elevated levels of mRNA and spike protein from the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine persist among some individuals for an indefinite period.” Studies were also cited showing that as efficacy wanes “COVID-19 vaccinated individuals developed an increased risk for infection.”

As noted by Florida’s Voice, the Sunshine State had previously advised against the use of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and boosters “on young people, particularly young males, over concerns of potential heart side effects.”
