Trump didn’t have to lift a finger in the debate

Living in reality has always been important to me. For the last month or so, my sense of reality has been under attack. I have been awakened every morning by a nightmare in which the Democrat nominee for president is a public fool called Kamala Harris. This can’t be real. Can it? Tuesday night, I discovered that the entire nation is having the same nightmare.

In the first and perhaps the last Harris-Trump debate, we were treated to a strong dose of just how much of a phony Harris is. Her media-touted preparations clearly helped her. If nothing else she proved that she could speak in coherent sentences, even if most of her statements were regurgitated from memory. That in itself was a victory for Harris.

But the real takeaway was the extent of her lying and phony persona. Instead of giving specific answers about her positions, she offered vague word salads combined with meaningless references to her family and childhood. She lied continually about Trump’s positions and statements, lies that were uniformly supported by the clearly biased ABC moderators. And she outdid herself with grimaces and sarcastic smiles in response to Trump’s statements. In other words, the same nauseating behavior that has made Harris a public joke.

With Harris’ scripted responses, lies, and arrogant facial contortions, voters are taking away not only how unqualified she is to be president but what a thoroughly repulsive person she is. That is why opinion polls show Trump as the overall victor. It was all done by Harris. Trump didn’t have to lift a finger.

It is difficult for me to accept that Harris is the best that one of our two major parties can offer as a presidential candidate. My hope is that I will wake up one day soon to discover that Harris has disappeared. At the very least, I am counting on the voters to reject this irritating harpy so I can get some sleep.
