Constitutional law expert Alan Dershowitz has finally had enough of the radicalism of the modern Democratic Party and has changed his affiliation to Independent.
Since welcoming the cadre of left-wing firebrands known as “The Squad” with open arms, the Democratic Party has become a magnet for antisemites and it was the “anti-Jewish” sentiment expressed by lawmakers as well as the grotesque hatefest of the Democratic National Convention that sealed the deal for the Harvard Law professor emeritus.
Dershowitz announced his decision to bolt the party during an appearance on”Talkline with Zev Brenner,” explaining why he is now done with the Democrats.

“It was the most anti-Jewish, anti-Israel, anti-Zionist convention I have experienced and I have been watching conventions since 1952,” he told the host.
“Let me tell you why this was the worst convention in history, of American history,” Dershowitz said. “They had more anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist people who was speaking, staring with AOC, a miserable anti-Zionist bigot,” referring to demagogic diva Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who fired up the crowd at the United Center.
“Then they had Liz Warren, who is one of the most anti-Jewish people,” he continued, referring to the Massachusetts senator who’s been mockingly dubbed “Pocahontas” by former President Donald J. Trump for falsifying her Indian heritage to game the system. “Then they had Bernie Sanders, one of the most anti-Jewish people in the Senate.”
“Then to top it off, they have one of the worst anti-Semites in modern American history last night at the convention,” he said, noting the prime speaking spot given to the race-grifting MSNBC pundit Rev. Al Sharpton.
“Here’s the way the Democrats figured it out,” he explained. “They’re not gonna let these anti-Semites and anti-Zionists speak about Israel, and they didn’t…but by giving them platforms, what it says is that when AOC does call Israel a genocidal country and rails against it, she now has the imprimatur of the Democratic Party.”
“When Bernie Sanders rails against Israel, he has the imprimatur. When Liz Warren, and when everybody else, they had so many speakers from the Black Congressional Caucus who didn’t attend Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech,” he said. “And of course, there wasn’t a single pro-Israel speaker.”
“They had people speaking who they legitimated and gave the imprimatur of the Democratic Party who tomorrow will be making speeches and in the past have been making speeches against Israel and against Jews,” he added, explaining that the party gives the anti-Semites legitimacy by featuring them at the DNC.
“I am no longer a Democrat. I am an Independent,” Dershowitz added, saying that he won’t disclose who he will vote for until November. “I want to see how they deal with Iran. I want to encourage the current administration to support Israel.”
“A lot of things pushed me in that direction,” he told Brenner, noting that Harris’ snubbing of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to a joint session of Congress in July was a big factor in his decision.
Harris was among a number of anti-Israel Democrats who didn’t show up for the speech, later trashing Netanyahu in comments to the press after meeting with him personally.
“I was disgusted at the Democratic National Convention. Absolutely disgusted, “Dershowitz said, “That’s not my party.”
