Washington state rolls out ‘racist home loan program’ of up to $150,000

The more people see “equity” in action, the more outraged they become over the reverse discrimination being practiced — a tactic that much of the media openly embraces.

Look no further than Washington state, where a home loan program dubbed the Covenant Homeownership Program was recently launched to reverse “racial disparities in home ownership.” To be clear, white people are not eligible to apply for up to $150,000 in zero-interest loans. The program is for first-time homebuyers from select marginalized racial groups.

“A Washington state home loan program promises to counter racial discrimination by limiting the ethnicities of those eligible for its services,” KOMO reported, adding: “Eligibility requirements stipulate applicants must be at or below 100% of the local median income and fit into one of several minority groups, including Black, Hispanic or Native American.”

So there you have it. Whitey need not apply. And the media reports on the program as if it’s morally justified to exclude an entire group of people due to the color of their skin.

The tenets of Critical Race theory are on full display in a study conducted by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission

“The Covenant Homeownership Act acknowledges the State government’s role as both an active and passive participant in generations of discriminatory policies and practices that created barriers to credit and homeownership for historically marginalized communities in Washington and that these discriminatory actions continue to impact these communities today,” the study proclaims.

Oh, and Jewish residents do not appear to have access to the initiative targeting residents with “deep roots” in the state.

“The Covenant program’s initial eligibility criteria are intentionally narrowly tailored,” reads a website set up for the program. “While many racial, ethnic and religious groups in Washington were subject to unjust and egregious housing discrimination, the Covenant program considers not only this history but also its current impacts.”

“Some of the groups discriminated against continue to show much lower homeownership rates compared with the general white population. These are named in the initial eligibility criteria. However, for other groups (such as Jewish residents), the data is limited when it comes to documenting the lasting impacts of historical discrimination,” the page added.

And don’t mistake the largess as reparations, which is still to come.

“The Covenant Homeownership Act is one small effort to remedy past and ongoing discrimination and its impacts on access to credit and homeownership for BIPOC and other historically marginalized communities in Washington state,” the site reads. “It does not represent a formal reparations effort.”

Talk radio host Jason Rantz summed up the “racist home loans program” well.

“It is a classic example of the misguided, feel-good policies that perpetuate division rather than solve the problems they claim to address. Indeed, this is nothing more than a racist home loans program,” he said.

“One of the most troubling aspects of this program is its assumption that people today are victims of racism simply because their ancestors might have been,” Rantz added. “The idea that one’s eligibility for financial assistance should be tied to their race is as racist as the policies they claim made it less likely for these loan applicants to afford a home to begin with. It perpetuates the notion that people are defined by their racial background rather than their individual circumstances; that a poor white or Jewish family is still better off than a wealthy black or Hispanic family.”

He was not alone in his assessment… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
