Police are searching for a man who can be seen on a security camera choking a woman from behind after she entered her apartment building in Brooklyn.
The frightening footage depicts the 25-year-old victim walking through the lobby toward the mailboxes, trailed closely by the suspect. The male, described by police as having a “dark complexion” presses the elevator button a few times as the victim heads up some stairs. Perhaps not realizing that the building had security cameras, he then switched his focus to the victim and followed her up the stairs. At this point, he puts his arm around her neck.

“It’s crazy because he was literally like five feet behind her in the picture I saw,” said a neighbor.
The victim can be seen kicking at her attacker and screaming for help, to which he replied: “Shut up.” The incident only lasted a few seconds, as the suspect quickly released the victim and walked out of the building as if nothing happened. She was not injured, and police have not been able to identify the man.
“There have been a lot of weird things happening in this building. I’ve been followed in before myself,” said a man named Carlos Vasquez, who reported that he got a doorbell camera because he didn’t feel safe.
