Democrat nominee Kamala Harris finally took a few questions from the media nearly three weeks after she was tabbed as Joe Biden’s replacement at the top of the party’s ticket.
The vice president has been kept under wraps by her handlers but with criticism from Republicans growing by the day, the Wonder Woman of American politics briefly chatted with reporters after a campaign event in Michigan.
Speaking from the tarmac at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Harris responded to remarks by her opponent GOP nominee Donald J. Trump that he had agreed to three debates in September.

“Well, I’m glad that he’s finally agreed to a debate on Sept. 10,” Harris said, suggesting that she might agree to additional debates in the future although seeming to reject Trump’s challenge to the traditional three between candidates in a presidential election year.
“I’ve talked to my team. I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month,” Harris said in response to a question about why she hasn’t held a press conference or sat down for an in-depth interview since she was handed her party’s nomination.
If she does get around to an actual interview, it will almost certainly be in a controlled setting on a friendly outlet like the ones that Biden used to do.
“Listen, I praise anyone who has presented themselves to serve our country,” she also said, defending running mate Tim Walz over criticism about the Minnesota governor’s military record. “And I think that we all should.”
While her supporters and cheerleaders in the media will tout her vaguely fielding a handful of questions as proof that she isn’t being wrapped in a protective cocoon, unbiased observers were unimpressed.
Peak journalism is that when you finally get a chance to ask the candidate a question you ask about when they will take more questions. https://t.co/uxHDep26SO

Sounds super rough, guys. No, this doesn’t count as her answering serious or tough questions. This is a gentle hot stone massage. https://t.co/eF1tggR1oq

She’s hiding and it’s only going to get worse for her!

ONE interview in a month? I know writing and memorizing a script takes time, but come on.

#ChickenmalaHarris is back on the menu. She’s terrified of Trump.

Feed her the questions a month in advance and let practice her scripted answers while not allowing follow up questions and she’ll be fine.

Am interview is not acceptable. George Slopidopolis will give her the questions aforehand, we need to ask for a press conference.

Did they ask her what her favorite ice cream flavor is?

“Kamala refuses to do interviews because her team realizes she is unable to answer questions, much like Biden was not able to answer questions, but for different reasons. He is just plain ‘shot,’ and she is just plain ‘Incompetent,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday morning.
“I will expose Kamala during the Debate the same way I exposed Crooked Joe, Hillary, and everyone else during Debates – Only I think Kamala will be easier!” Trump added in another post.
