It took a week but the Vatican finally responded to the blasphemous opening ceremony of the Paris Summer Olympics that mocked “The Last Supper” in a grotesque parody that sparked international outrage.
In an opener that was replete with perversion and what many described as “Satanic” overtones, the organizers thought that it would be a good idea to reimagine the famous scene of the lord and savior and his apostles at a final repast before his crucifixion with drag queens and a fat lesbian in the role of Jesus Christ.

As a firestorm raged for a week over the globally televised insult to Christians and all other decent human beings, the world’s highest Catholic authority remained silent, finally putting out a tepid statement on Saturday that addressed the disgusting and sacrilegious political messaging.
The Holy See joins “the voices that have been raised in recent days to deplore the offence caused to many Christians and believers of other religions” by some scenes at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

“The Holy See was saddened by certain scenes during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games and can only join the voices that have been raised in recent days to deplore the offence caused to many Christians and believers of other religions,” the Vatican said.
“At a prestigious event where the whole world comes together to share common values, there should be no allusions ridiculing the religious convictions of many people,” read the short statement.
In the opinion of some X users, the Vatican’s remarks were a day late, a dollar short and not nearly as strong as such a vile affront to the Christian religion merited.

“The opening ceremony,” the French Bishops’ Conference said in a statement last weekend, beating the Vatican by a week. “offered the world last wonderful moments of beauty, joy, rich emotions, and universal acclaim,” but “included scenes of derision and mockery of Christianity, which we deeply deplore.”
As of Sunday morning, Pope Francis has yet to personally address the anti-Christian Olympic travesty.
