Just days after escaping death at the hands of a seemingly mysterious assassin, to hear the FBI tell it, former President Donald Trump delivered his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.
If there was a theme Thursday night in Milwaukee, it’s fair to say it centered around an atmosphere of love as the 2024 Republican nominee was surrounded by his family, who seemed to appreciate the very sentiment Trump shared in a moving account of the attempt on his life, “I’m not supposed to be here.”
An enduring moment occurred when son Eric spoke, as Trump’s granddaughter Carolina, 4, stole hearts when she came out to sit in her grandfather’s lap to hear her father’s speech. For all the effort on the left to dehumanize Trump, the grandchildren are clearly very comfortable around “grandpa,” which suggests Trump spends a fair amount of time with them. It’s also clear that they love him, as seen when 17-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump stole the show Wednesday night.
“Grandpa, you are such an inspiration and I love you,” Kai told him.

Trump sat Eric’s wife, Lara Trump, and their children, Carolina, 4, and Luke, 6, as his son spoke. Carolina spent much of the time in her grandfather’s lap.
The former president was also joined by his wife and former First Lady Melania Trump, who made a grand entrance into the arena, and his children, including Don Jr., Ivanka, and Tiffany. Interestingly, Trump would later reference his 18-year-old son Barron being there, but he was not seen on camera.
But the images of Carolina sitting in Trump’s lap melted away 8-plus years of demonization by Democrats and the liberal media in an instant — a scene any doting grandparent can relate to with great fondness.

A beaming Melania Trump looked “breathtaking” on the final night of the convention, wearing a red dress and waving to the crowd as she made her way to the guest-of-honor section set aside for the Trump family, as seen here:

After delivering his speech, Trump was joined by his entire family on stage as they celebrated his official acceptance of the Republican presidential nomination:
