Tulsi Gabbard rips the trans truth gatekeepers in explosive new book

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

Who gets to decide what’s true and what’s false? Who gets to decide what’s a man and what’s a woman?

In times past it may have been a king or a ruler or a religious order that decided the truth and meted out penalties to anyone who stepped outside the lines. One might be tempted to think that in an age of ever-present social media and near-universal democracy around the world, the people would now have the power to arbitrate truth. But as former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard exposes in her scintillating page-turner book, For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind, that’s not the case.

Priests and kings have been replaced by totalitarian transgender activists and biased, partisan so-called fact-checkers. These fact-checkers are just as often fact-hiders, and they’re fully in league with Democrat elites, mainstream media elites, and the likes of Facebook and the pre-Elon Musk Twitter.

The consequences are profound across culture, but nowhere as profound as they are in the transgender debate that has exploded around the world in the past few years, Gabbard writes. We went from a near-universal consensus that there are two genders, and they are distinct and different, to a confused and dangerous muddle in which the White House backs biological men competing with women in sports with college scholarships and careers – and most importantly the safety of women – very much on the line. We live in a time when a Supreme Court justice nominee cannot answer the simple question – “What is a woman?” – for fear that it would cost her the lifetime appointment on America’s highest court.

And everyone must acknowledge that giving a straightforward answer would in fact have ended Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination then and there. Her own party, the Democrats, would have rejected her.

Gabbard salutes swimmer Riley Gaines, who has risen to prominence for having the courage to step forward and speak out against the transgender totalitarianism. Gaines was the star swimmer who lost out to William Thomas, a low-ranking male swimmer who transitioned to Lia Thomas and soon dominated women’s college swimming. As Gabbard writes, Thomas was still anatomically male, but insisted on dressing with female athletes and competing against them – breaking their records and taking their victories away from them. When Gaines and Thomas tied for 5th in the 2022 NCAA championships, the judge handed Thomas the trophy instead of Gaines, and admitted to her that it was just easier than making the hard call to hand a trophy intended for women to the woman who deserved it – Gaines.

The easy road isn’t always or even often the right road. Gabbard herself knows this all too well. Gabbard’s former political party, the Democratic Party, is now fully taken over by the pro-transgender side of the argument and refuses to acknowledge any other voice. From Joe Biden’s White House down to local parties, one must now toe the line or risk getting canceled.

Gabbard could have gone along with the party. It would have been the easy thing to do.

But like the courageous Riley Gaines, Tulsi Gabbard has chosen courage over comfort. She has chosen to speak instead of being silent.

Speaking out against entrenched, selfish power may be the most American action one can take. Our entire country is founded on the right to speak out, to believe as one wishes based on their conscience. The militant transgender movement not only does not allow debate, it believes debate and discussion are dangerous. Words in dissent are dangerous violence in their worldview.

If Tulsi Gabbard has anything to say about it, transgenderism will never win out over the facts of freedom and biology. It’s an uphill fight when the White House is using its bully pulpit to intimidate and silence dissent and even Miss Universe changed its rules to allow biological men to compete, but Gabbard and Gaines have been joined by tennis legend Martina Navratilova, surfing champion Bethany Hamilton, and others.

Thankfully, we have Tulsi Gabbard and For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind, with healthy doses of common sense and clarity. For the sake of honesty and truth, there is no more important debate than gender. A culture that is confused about something as simple as biological gender can be made to be uncertain about anything. That may be the ultimate point and purpose of transgenderism – not the promotion of any individual’s rights per say, but the subversion of clarity and the ultimate destruction of truth.
