Disgraced former Harvard president given ‘Reading and Research’ class, will keep $900K salary: report

Harvard professor Claudine Gay has returned to teaching and her reportedly nearly $900,000 annual salary after being forced to resign as president of the Ivy League school.

So much for consequences after Gay was hit with serious plagiarism accusations, which surfaced after she drew attention to herself with her response to campus antisemitism — according to the Associated Press, Gay was “unable to say unequivocally that calls on campus for the genocide of Jews would violate the school’s conduct policy.”

College Fix reported that Gay is slated to teach a graduate-level “Reading and Research” course this upcoming semester. The outlet said it asked Harvard’s media team for confirmation on Gay’s teaching schedule, what she plans to do the rest of 2024, and what she has been doing since resigning, but has yet to receive a response.

Outkick could not help but note that the story strikes as a parody.

“A woman outed for serial plagiarism – or ‘inadequate citations,’ the phrase that the school used to euphemize her misdeeds – will preside over a ‘research’ course that emphasizes proper attribution. How this is real-life and not a skit on “SNL” or a headline from the Babylon Bee is amusing,” the site observed.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
