Tucker talks with comedy icon: ‘Roseanne Barr turns out to be a very deep person’

Tucker Carlson sat down with Roseanne Barr recently for an episode of “The Tucker Carlson Encounter” and told viewers that he found the comedian to be “a very deep person.”

“Roseanne Barr has been in the public eye for almost 40 years and amazingly, she’s more influential than ever. So we thought we would check in with her and see how she’s doing,” Carlson said to kick off the interview.

Carlson and Barr, who referred to herself as a “stranger in a strange land,” commiserated over how both were essentially “canceled” while on top-rated shows in a clip Carlson shared on social media.

“Did you figure out like I did that it’s really personal?” Barr asked.

“Oh, it’s always personal,” Carlson replied. “The thing about television is everything is personal on TV. It’s about you.”

“I don’t take any of it personally, thank heaven,” he continued. “But you get fired in this very, very public way. Become the center of the national debate over Trump. But you don’t go away and then all of a sudden, look up and you’re everywhere.”

Barr said of former President Donald Trump, “He’s the only guy in my Hollywood career that ever returned a favor and gave me back more than I’d given him.”

Tucker referenced Barr’s infamous “deep state bullsh*t” line at a Trump rally, noting that she was “obviously enjoying” herself — the media attacked her for screaming into the microphone.

Barr also talked about how we are denied exposure to the “heart of America,” its people, in the short clip of the interview, whether it’s doctors and nurses refusing the latest government dictate or members of the armed services who balked at untested vaccines.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the interview clip, as seen on X:
