U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was spitting mad over being confronted by anti-Israel protesters in New York City.
The self-avowed socialist lawmaker and her fiancé were ambushed while taking in a show at the boutique theater Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn. The activists demanded that AOC call Israel’s war against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas “genocide.”
“You refuse to call it a genocide, I need you to understand that this is not okay,” one protester said. “It’s not okay that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it.”
Ocasio-Cortez was no shrinking violet, pushing back with an f-bomb-laced counter while screaming, “You’re lying!”

“You’re gonna cut this and you’re gonna clip this so it’s completely out of context,” she said. “I always said that it was!”
“And y’all gonna just pretend like it wasn’t over and over again,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “It’s f-cked up man. And you’re not helping these people, you’re not helping them!”
The protesters were adamant about forcing the Ocasio-Cortez to say the word “genocide.”
“We’re just talking to you like normal people. Just say it’s a genocide. Just say it,” a female activist said. “Over 30,000 people are dead AOC, you can’t just say it for once? Just say the word, that’s it. That’s all we want you to say.’
Ocasio-Cortez has called for “de-escalation and ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip, and she has accused the IDF of committing “war crimes.”

Some on social media took care to highlight AOC’s previous support for protests and other forms of civil disobedience.
She tweeted in Dec. 2020: “The whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable. Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows. To folks who complain protest demands make others uncomfortable… that’s the point.”

Turns out, the Democratic lawmaker has even defended those who claim Israel’s self defense amounts to genocide.
“Whether you are an individual that believes this is a genocide — which by the way, in our polling we are seeing large amounts of Americans concerned specifically with that word. So I don’t think that it is something to completely toss someone out of our public discourse for using,” she said during a January appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press.
Moderator Kristen Welker asked Ocasio-Cortez, “Do you agree with that word, ‘genocide,’ that the president’s been supporting a genocide, or does that go too far?”
“I think what we are seeing right now throughout the country is that young people are appalled at the violence and the indiscriminate loss of life,” AOC replied, careful not to use the term.
Interestingly, former Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill weighed in when a social media user went after her “ginger” boyfriend — the man credited with killing Osama bin Laden comically tweeted, “Easy on the gingers…”
