Glenn Beck reported on Friday that not only will House Republicans release 5,000 hours of Jan. 6 CCTV footage from the Capitol — partially in response to the FBI’s arrest of Blaze Media journalist Steve Baker — but that all 40,000 hours will be released over the next 8 weeks.
Baker, an investigative reporter, revealed earlier this week that the FBI had directed him to turn himself in on Friday, saying that it was related to his “journalistic efforts” in covering the January 6 events in Washington, D.C. It’s rather remarkable that more than 3 years later, the bureau is still arresting people over a protest that got out of hand.
Beck aired video footage of his interview with U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), who broke it down for him.
BREAKING: @RepLoudermilk tells me that today, House Republicans will release 5,000 hours of Jan. 6 CCTV footage from the Capitol partially in response to the FBI’s arrest of Blaze Media journalist Steve Baker. “Literally, just before I came on, Speaker Mike Johnson released what we’ve been working on over the past several weeks… today, an additional 5000 hours of video footage will be available on Rumble. It’s gonna be rolling out throughout the day,” Loudermilk said
“It’s taken us a while to get to this because it’s a technical process. You’ve got to convert these videos from the CCTV format into an internet-friendly format,” the GOP lawmaker explained. “And when we first started doing this, when Speaker Johnson said let’s get them all out there, it was just taking our investigative team full time just trying to get all this processed, which was taking us away from the other parts of the investigation.”
Loudermilk said their goal is to release 1,200 hours a day, explaining that the House hired a contractor to take care of this.
When asked if the release is because of Baker’s arrest, Loudermilk replied, “The prioritization of which videos we decided to do first is partially because of what Steve is going through.”
Beck noted that Baker offered to give the FBI all the information he had, and began to insist that the reporter was documenting what was taking place that day before stopping mid-sentence to say he didn’t want to get into it.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Logan: “Is [Jan 6] potentially the biggest setup in the history of this country?”
Loudermilk: “Potentially.”
Logan: “One of the greatest crimes against the American people.”
Jan 6 was a setup: the FBI, Pelosi, Schumer, McConnell & others were in on it! pic.twitter.com/ripxP8lYOG

Can someone explain to me why they held back this footage? My mind goes to manipulating the tapes but I’m just a conspiracy theorist.

It would be good if they did so the people could better understand what happened. But, they have been saying this for a while, so I won’t hold my breath.

Why over 6 weeks when it’s already been delayed for years?
— Sloane (@SloaneK_GA) March 1, 2024
Why haven’t they done this before? I don’t trust them, in the least.

Imagine if they’d done this a year ago like they promised…
