‘Lame’ Rolling Stone says not to take off masks ‘just yet,’ runs down best options to wear

Once a champion of alternative thinking and “rock hard” principles, Rolling Stone is now comparing and contrasting Covid face masks and urging readers to “stay prepared — and protected.”

“Though mask restrictions have eased across the country (and around the world), officials say you shouldn’t be taking off your masks just yet, especially if you’re in crowded places or traveling,” Rolling Stone reports.

Doesn’t matter how many jabs you’ve endured, you should still mask up, the emasculated magazine warns — and not just for Covid, but for all “potentially harmful” bugs.

“Even if you have received your vaccine and booster, medical experts continue to promote the wearing of face coverings as an effective way to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the new JN.1 variant, measles, and other potentially harmful viruses in the air,” Rolling Stone states. “And while airlines and the FAA have removed guidelines mandating the wearing of face masks in-flight, many travelers are still keeping their masks on when sharing air with hundreds of passengers for hours at a time.”

Just to be safe, you might want to think about wearing them everywhere.

“With Covid infections rising again,” the outlet says, “some states have also started debating recommending masks again, especially for indoor dining and entertainment.”

“Regardless,” it added, “it’s always good to stay prepared — and protected.”

Rolling Stone then runs down all the face diaper options and provides convenient links so readers can buy them up.

“Literally a pathetic native advertising campaign,” noted one user on X.

To be clear, even scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have found that, when it comes to stopping the spread of COVID-19, there’s no difference between cheap surgical masks and N95 respirators, which Rolling Stone claims are “the most effective face masks according to researchers.”

My, how the mighty have fallen.

“Rolling Stone: Not going out with a bang, but a whimper,” declared one X user.

Another suggested that Rolling Stone should, “Read the room.”

The choice of masks, one user said, depends on how sick you want to get.

“Depends on how many upper respiratory bacterial infections you want to get,” the user wrote. “While neither of those will stop a virus, they both will harbor bacteria that will cause infection if persistently rebreathed.”

“From rock n roll to bubble boy,” one X user told Rolling Stone. “Congratulations, you’re lame!”
